(white) people on my aou post: aou isn’t that bad, what about ragnarok???
me: i don’t? understand? what the fuck? you mean?
oh we’re still doing this “ragnarok made thor and loki look stupid” thing
things ragnarok did:
– reinvent thor as being a more relatable and fun character with a far more extensive power set as well as making him the star of his own goddamn movie for once without worry about some other character overshadowing him and established that his arcs from the first two movies were realized in the form of him assuming control of his powers on odin’s level – asserting his ultimate worthiness
– introduce valkyrie
– give heimdall more than two minutes of screentime
– destroy asgard
– reintroduce hulk with the ability to speak and show emotion beyond smashing things
– fuck colonialist lives! korg is skinny!
– contain good and funny jokes
– was directed by the mcu’s first director of color
– fix loki’s sad broody boy problem
– make fun of thor: the dark world
ragnarok is one of the best marvel movies for the “prisoners with jobs” joke alone, fuck y’all, unclench
This whole, no posts with links show up in the tags thing is driving me nuts.
Listen I love a smackdown as much as the next girl but let’s not glorify this scene of white kids dressing up as natives as the end all be all of Thanksgiving truth
Interviewer: I have to ask you the most important question now. Is it true, or not true, that you decided to this Rogue One prequel series because they’re gonna put Jabba The Hutt in it so you can touch it?
If Congress does not pass legislation protecting the tribe and the legal challenge fails, the Mashpee would be stripped of their right to exercise sovereign jurisdiction over their land.
Jessie Little Doe Baird, the tribe’s vice-chairwoman, told Al Jazeera that loss of jurisdiction would prevent the tribe from running indigenous language schools, tribal courts, and housing projects, as well as its own police.
“We have our own police force, which is important because they’re tribal citizens and since we’ve had our own police force, none of our men have been beaten or shot, which we’ve had before with non-tribal police,” she said.
