Once again, I’m low on interviewees. Since I don’t have the time to constantly post calls every single time I’m running low, I’m hoping to use this post as a kind of a reminder:
ASEXUAL ARTISTS IS OPEN FOR INTERVIEWS YEAR-ROUND!
I’m always looking for artists who are on the spectrum to interview. Any and all kinds of artists are welcome.
This is including but not limited to:
WRITERS: all genres and forms are welcome (novelists, short stories, poetry, flash fiction, etc). It doesn’t matter if you’re unpublished, just starting out, a student, a hobbyist, or established. Traditionally published, self-published, small press, etc. You’re all welcome and you all have something to offer.
VISUAL ARTISTS: Self explanatory, any kind of visual art you can imagine (photography, painting, sketching, drawing, sculpture, installation, etc.).
FANARTISTS: Another self-explanatory category. Cosplay, visual, fanfiction, etc. Whatever you do in your fandom (any and all fandoms welcome), you’re an artist.
FILMMAKERS: YouTubers, directors, cinematographers, anything that has to do with making films (short, features, documentaries, etc).
PERFORMANCE ARTS: actors, theater arts, singers, mimes, any sort of performers.
DANCERS: Any kind of dance style you can imagine is welcome here (ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, burlesque, belly-dancing, ballroom, etc.)
MUSICIANS: playing instruments, composing, singing, anything involving music
CULINARY: maybe your medium of choice is food. If so, you’re welcome here.
CRAFTS: any sort of craft you can think of (sewing, knitting, crocheting, candle making, jewelry making, etc.)
All levels of artists are welcome: whether you’re a student or a professional, just starting out or already established. If you create, you have something to offer and therefore I want to interview you 🙂

I want to add that it is free of terf rhetoric and inclusive of trans lesbians, nonbinary lesbians, and gnc lesbians. There is no shaming of women who have had sex with men (or feel like they desire men) and I really appreciated the parts about having a complicated relationship with gender identity.
The audience is people who are questioning if they might be lesbians. It’s not a put-down of other sexual orientations or somehow suggesting that being a lesbian is endgame for bi/pan women.

If you feel like you’re disobeying God, questioning your faith, or feel wrong and dirty for loving who you love, there’s this fantastic site I found today called hoperemains that accurately and thoroughly combs through scripture and its (many) mistranslations, validates your orientation, and basically let’s you know that you’re not pissing off God. It’s insanely thorough and after reading through every page on the entire site it’s super helpful. Go check it out!
hoperemains is completely from a Christian perspective, and not pluralistic or interfaith at all.

for the last……..i don’t know, 5 or so years, my m.o. regarding internet bisexual disourse has largely been to ignore it and encourage other bi people to do the same. it made sense to me because as far as i could see it was an issue that exclusively existed on this site. which isn’t to say i didn’t think it was harmful – i hated myself for years as a direct result of the things other lgbt people said about bisexual women on here – but i thought the harm could largely be avoided by blocking the few loudmouths who were trying to start shit and hanging with people who weren’t evil.

This kind of person is, straight (haha) up, the kind of person who is only here for “I want mine”. If they’d been born a straight guy they’d be the worst kind of bros.
This is a thing that happens: I know PLENTY of straight white women whose grasp of feminism is limited strictly to “this affects me, so it’s important”. And of every other stripe of identity.
But never mistake it for anything than what it is.
Twitter really is Hell, this is fucking nauseating, JFC. Why the fuck do these people wanna justify violence and disdain for a specific class of women? Like what do they gain, as other marginalized people, often lgt, from shitting on bi people, especially women?
Is it just ugly, ugly entitlement that bi women won’t have sex with them? That’s the only explanation I can see.
PSA for all y’all asexual exclusionists out there. Asexuality is inherently queer. Deal with it. And while you’re at it support bisexuals, pansexuals, polysexuals, aromantic people, intersex ppl, trans people and non binary people y’all frequently forget us.
National Coming Out Day is coming up (October 11) and I just want to remind everyone:
1) Please do not out anyone (even if you “think you are doing them a favor.” Trust me when I say you aren’t) and make sure you don’t accidentally do so.
2) It is okay to be in the closet. Please do not feel pressure to/obligated to come out because there so happens to be a Coming Out Day. (Do it for you if it’s what you want).
3) don’t “come out” as LGBT+ as a joke. Don’t “come out” as kinky/a furry/whatever, either.
4) Don’t force/coerce your friends and/or loved ones to come out, and do not get mad at them if they choose to stay closeted.
